Short History

The Holy Cross Juniorate is a primary step of the brothers’ formation. The initial formation work began at the high school level for the brothers’ candidates in Bandura. Later, the formation activities had been shifted from Bandura to St. Gregory's High School and then to Narinda, 16, Monir Hossain Lane, Dhaka. At last, in 1969 the Juniorate had been established by its own name at Nagori, Gazipur district near Dhaka. Since then, the aspirants of the Juniorate study at St. Nicholas high school.

Presently students studying in class eight, nine and ten come here from different regions of the country and stay here up to the SSC. Here in a homely environment, they are taught to live a simple life style and do their own work by themselves. Here they get primary knowledge of prayer and meditation. Not only that but they are also given the facilities to develop a
relationship with peers through conferences, retreats and religion classes, etc.

During this period of their stay, they are helped to seek and find their vocation with the conceptions of the religious life, Holy Cross congregation and service of the Church. In this primary step we expect the aspirants should clearly understand their vocation in Brotherhood. They are helped to feel that God has called them out from among the many and He is always helping them.
